The “veteran” has an expiry date, and now it’s closer than ever. Only 500 days to live, that’s what the doctor said.
What exactly this means? Well, at the end of this 500 days Windows will no longer provide patches and security fixes – which are the most needed because, everybody knows that XP is not very famous for its security.
Maybe you wonder now why I’m talking about this, when probably nobody use this anymore. I was surprised myself when I saw the statistics, and the numbers. Apparently there are five hundred million users (500), which is not a small number at all.
Many companies, and entrepreneurs still use this operating system, and after this 500 days they will have to migrate to a newer version of Windows. There will also be an alternative, to use some specialized companies services, that offer the necessary support for XP as a premium service, which is not cheap at all, and for sure the prices will gradually grow from now.
This end will also mean a significant increase in the Windows profits, considering that there are almost over 40% of the user that will have to go from XP to something newer.
What will you do? When will you upgrade?
