Linux Mint 14

Linux Mint, one of the most appreciated linux platform released a better version, with improved graphics that makes the desktop more user-friendly (Mate and Cinnamon), and a lot of optimizations that make the system more stable. Other improvements are:

  2. Notification app improved
  3. Multi desktop management improved
  4. MDM came with new themes
  5. Kernel 3.5
  6. Python 3
  7. gcc 4.7.2
  8. Libre Office 3.6

System requirements:

  • a 32-bit PAE-enabled x86 processor or a 64-bit x86 processor (Linux Mint 64-bit requires a 64-bit processor. Linux Mint 32-bit works on both PAE 32-bit processors and 64-bit processors).
  • 512 MB RAM (1GB recommended for a comfortable usage).
  • 5 GB of disk space
  • Graphics card capable of 800×600 resolution
  • CD/DVD drive or USB port

Open source users will be very happy with the updates that come with the Linux Mint 14, also known as Nadia. The operating system is available to download for free on their website :
